BIG NEWS!
Hey guys,

Here I have a long awaited update post regarding GGP! If you’ve been in store, or are a good friend of ours, you will have heard snippets of the current situation and how we hoped to deal with it. We like to keep our lovely customers in the loop, and now we have some decisions set in stone, we can freely tell you all!

Basically as our in-store customers will know, The Custard Factory is an amazing, but very quiet place, even quieter since the building work started back in March. That has had a great effect on business for the retailers at The Custard Factory. Our hearts made us hold on for as long as we could, despite no in-store business, but we have since decided with the help of our landlord, that we will be temporarily closing. But do not fear, as I say it’s temporary!

We initially thought about moving to a smaller space to reduce costs. Though we realised with our wonderful landlord that no matter how cheap our costs were, the problem is passing trade. The Custard Factory has a massive plan for the next year for the whole factory, with the plan being complete next summer. We saw the blueprints last night for the completed Devonshire House. The completed Devonshire house will include a number of new courtyards, and 14 new retail spaces. 14 shiny new retail spaces for a handpicked select few, chosen from the current residents of The Custard Factory, current independent businesses in the City, and new businesses that may arrive/be created in the coming year.

We will be one of them! We will start discussing our contract and space we want in December/January for a plan to launch all the new spaces in the summer. Along with the new spaces, there are many changes happening to the current space, and some old faces (the good ones!) will be returning to The Custard Factory for the summer too. The Custard Factory will be a completely new complex, like we’ve never seen it before. We’re so pleased to even be considered a part of this grand master plan!

So you may say, well what’s happens in the short-term? The short-term is not so bleak! We will continue to be attached to The Custard Factory. We don’t want to be seen anywhere else in the City! We will have a wonderful stall at the Sunday Flea every week, where you can still come and have a feel of lovely new vinyl, and maybe some Saturdays too. (All info will be posted here when set in stone). Not to mention we will have events at the Gallery at The Custard Factory. It’s an amazing space; we hope to use it well. We have some ideas in the pipeline for future events, and potentially a collaboration coming up with another store based at TCF. You can still buy online. We are currently going through a complete overhaul, new logo, new website etc – all designed and created by the oh-so-amazing Gavin Strange of Jam Factory!

Generally, we have just under a year to fine-tune all aspects of Go Go Plastic! ready for a brand spanking new space, in a shiny new Custard Factory! We’re excited, and we hope you are too!

Thanks for all your support so far! You've all been amazing!

If you have any questions, PLEASE just email us: info@gogoplastic.co.uk

Sale! Smash has arrived!

Righty-ho, first off we have a mini Spring Sale on! We need to make room for more amazing goodies at GGP! Grab a bargain while you can... I'm sure some of these items won't last long. :D

Secondly Smash is in the building! To all those who pre-ordered Smash, he has been sent to you today! He should be banging on your doors with his super-size fists first thing tomorrow morning.

For brick & mortar store customers please note our new opening times! Due to how quiet the store is during certain hours, we will no longer be opening during these times - such as early evening. This is partly due to the building work going on down at the Custard Factory. We will be opening for longer hours in the Summer months & on some Sundays from May.

Show Me The (mini) Munny!

Thanks to all the wonderful entries we had for the Show Me The (mini) Munny exhibition/competition. The amount of interest from customers & people passing by the store has been phenomenal. Each piece in the competition is an amazing achievement, to pick a top 3 would be a hard task for one individual. Therefore the judges have been named as myself (Louise), Jay, and Miranda from the oh-so-amazing Clutter magazine. Clutter & Co are currently enjoying themselves at the NYCC, so as soon as we get Miranda's picks we'll reveal the winners!

The prizes are as follows; 1st place - £40 to spend in store, 2nd place - a goody bag worth £30, 3rd place - a goody bag worth £15.

All submissions can be seen in our Flickr photostream. If you submit a mini munny & would like it returned, please contact us. Many artists have requested their mini munny reside in Go Go Plastic! a little longer - that's cool too! Just let us know. Those who wish for their mini munny to stay AND be for sale, we can add them to our webstore for a wider customer audience if you'd like.

Exhibition launch

Go Go Plastic! will be attending Phil Corbett's first solo show! We think everyone should attend! All the info for the launch is above, or if you can't make Thursday, be sure to check out the show while it's running.

"...if you're into cute, very slightly suggestive animals with dark undertones and gaudy colours than this is the show for you". - Phil

That's a definite must then! See you there!
